National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Outreach Facility Jeedimetla, Department of Space (DOS) provides an opportunity to students for carrying out projects as part of fulfillment of PG and UG courses. These allotments are strictly on requirement, depending on the projects/ programmes at NRSC. Guidelines for carrying out the project work at NRSC are available here.
1. Who is eligible?
Final year students of M.Tech/M.E/B.Tech/B.E/M.Sc./MCA courses. Students from art & commerce stream are not eligible.
2. What is the project duration?
The duration of the project work will be for a minimum of 3 months and up to 12 months. Preference is given to the students doing project for a longer duration
3. What is the selection criterion?
All the applications/requisitions will be screened and reviewed by an internal committee. The screening is done based on marks, and students with excellent academic record, right from schooling till the present course (first class throughout with minimum 70%) will be considered
4. How to apply?
a. Send scanned copy of request letter from the Head of Dept./Principal/Placement Officer of the College/Institute addressed to General Manager, Outreach Facility along with student's resume to firstname.lastname@example.org. (Don’t send the copies of mark sheet by mail)
b. Hard copy of the following are to be sent to General Manager, Outreach Facility, National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), 6, Medak Rd, IDA Jeedimetla, Hyderabad, Telangana, 500055.
- Request letter from the Head of Dept./Principal/Placement Officer of the College/Institute in original
- CV/biodata/resume which includes marks obtained from Xth class onwards
- Copies of mark sheets (X, XII, undergrad and any other relevant)
5.When to apply?
Keeping in view the academic calendar of different programmes, students are advised to apply as per schedule given below. They should clearly mention the duration and the start time in the application.
For Internship starting period October – February (The last date is 15th July)
For Internship starting period March – September (The last date is 15th December)
6. How will you know about selection?
The selected students will be informed through email after the last date of application submission. Remember to add your email ID in the resume, as all the correspondence after receiving your application will be done through email only.
7. At the time of joining
On being selected the student is required to give the joining date & come to NRSC on that date along with a copy of the email regarding the selection. The selection letter will include the required details. The project confirmation letter along with the details of the project guide will be given to the student at the time of joining.
8. Project Report
Printing and photocopying of the project report has to be done outside NRSC.
Certification of the project will be done by the Project Guide at NRSC and by the Head of the College / Dept. of the Institution where the student is studying. There will be no certification of the Internal Guide unless he has enough guiding component. This shall be duly reflected in the project report. Unless the report is completed in all respects and is bound, it will not be cleared by NRSC Outreach Facility.
10. General Information
a. There will be no financial assistance from NRSC & NRSC does not charge for internship.
b. The outstation students will have to arrange for their stay at Hyderabad, as NRSC Outreach Facility does not provide any accommodation.
c. NRSC does not provide any free food, transport, etc, to the students.
d. The work place can be at Jeedimetla or Shadnagar depending upon project & guide.
e. Students are discouraged to send mails to any NRSC mail ID other than specified here. Sending mails to multiple persons may lead to disqualification.
f. Application by mail should include letter from HOD and CV/biodata with marks obtained (Xth onward). Do not send copies of mark sheet by email.
g. The aggregate marks reflected in the resume, will be verified with original certificates at the time of joining.
h. Number of students from each college will be limited to a maximum of eight students per branch for under-graduate and six students per institute for PG students.
i. After receiving the application, all further correspondence will be carried out through email only.
