  • Landslide hazard zonation maps on 1:25,000 scale were prepared in 2001 for important tourist and pilgrim routes in H.P. and Uttarakhand. These maps were used to find out areas vulnerable to future landslides. State govt. officials were trained on how to use these maps.
  • Important landslide disasters such as Varunawat Parbat landslide (2003), Okhimath (2012) and Kedarnath (2013) were studied. Cause of Kedarnath disaster due to breaching of Moraine dammed Chorabari Tal Lake was found out from the analysis of 1 m Cartosat-2 data.
  • Experimental landslide early warning is made operational through Bhuvan portal.
  • Major earthquakes such as Kashmir earthquake (2005), Sikkim earthquake (2011) and Nepal earthquake (2015) were studied for geological and damage assessment.
